First Impressions… Bangkok, Thailand
Security, Smiley, Steamy, Street Food…
When we walked through the doors at the Suvarnabhumi airport the reality of what we were doing finally hit home. Up to that point the romanticised version had played out in our minds preparing us for a major culture shock. Although there wasn’t an army of mosquitos waiting for me at the gate, neither Lonely Planet, personal accounts, nor all of the research and reading could have prepared us for the oppresive humidity, the inability to communicate and the crash course in being a fish out of water. The first hour in Bangkok will be imprinted in our memory for the rest of our lives. Check out Expedia for more information on visiting and experiencing all that Thailand has to offer.

Mam nadzieje, ze sie szybko przyzwyczaicie do nowego otoczenia:)
Thanks for your kind comments on DS’s journal. Little Zofia’s is delightful! Thanks for sharing it :-).
I can almost feel how Bangkok felt to you. Looking forward to more vicarious world experiences with you. May the mossies leave you bite-free and the humidity make your skin silky smooth (the only benefit I can think of).
Finally you land on solid ground, which at this stage obviously feels like an entirely foreign universe and not nearly as solid as ground should be. I am feeling the oppressive heat with you there a little. I am in Noosa and its pretty humid here too. Enjoy Bangkok! My love to Zosia. xx
Have been waiting with baited breath to hear about your impression of Bangkok…all at once th dreaming, theorising, planning all come into fruition! Reality! Out goes the wardrobe no doubt, too hot! Nothing like a strip of cloth with a spray bottle and lots of water to drink. How is our Zosia coping with it all?
I think you need to change the title of your blog to Bangkok to Krakow with a baby!
Well my darlings no doubt you arenearly in Chang Mai where you can relax and absorb the culture and practice your Thai on unsuspecting locals with Zosia as the ice breaker. Enjoy your adventure in that exotic land and I hope that you have a wonderful lotus spiritual journey.
Give our Zosia an extra kiss and cuddle from Whaea and KorkiXXXOOO
thanks for the well wishes. i´m all settled in here, only 3 months and 3 weeks to go. can´t wait to hear what adventures you have next. hope all is well with you all. aroha nui
me…………………………………..you know who
HAHAHAHAHA , wait till phuket it only gets worse, you’ll both loose at least 20kg in the sauna like heat, have a tiger for me Karon
Man – so different from the ‘Postcard’ era eh Sandi?!!
I really hope the heat doesn’t get to you too much and spoil things for you. I can understand the fact that tourists can be a pain in the proverbial but without them, there’s no money for the locals.
Take care and stay safe, Arohanui and big kisses for all 3 of you, Carlene xx
